Type in your page's title, description and address to see them as Google shows them - on desktop and mobile, with the length measured the way Google measures it: in pixels.
Everything happens in your browser - nothing you type here is sent to any server.
How it works
Why length is measured in pixels
Google doesn't cut titles after a set number of characters but at a width - about 600 pixels on desktop. A title full of wide letters (W, M) fits fewer characters than one with narrow ones (i, l). This tool measures the text in the font Google uses, so you see the real result rather than an estimate.
How to write a good title and description
Start the title with what the customer is looking for (e.g. “Hairdresser in Kraków”) and put your brand at the end. The description is your ad in the results: say what the customer gets and finish with a call to action - “Book online”, “See the prices”.
Every page should have its own unique title and description. Google sometimes replaces the description with a snippet of the page, but it picks a well-written one far more often.
Frequently asked questions
How many characters should a page title have?
Usually 50–60, but width matters more: up to about 580 pixels on desktop. The tool shows both counts.
What's the best meta description length?
About 120–158 characters. A shorter one wastes space; a longer one gets cut off with an ellipsis, especially on desktop.
Why does Google show a different title than mine?
Google may rewrite a title that's too long, repeats keywords or doesn't match the page. A short, specific title that matches the page's heading usually stays as it is.
