UTM link builder
Add UTM parameters to a link and Google Analytics will show which post, email or flyer brought the visitors.
Everything happens in your browser - nothing you type here is sent to any server.
How it works
What UTM parameters are for
When someone comes to your site from Facebook, Google Analytics often only knows it was Facebook. UTM parameters added to the link tell it more: which post, campaign or newsletter. So you know where your time and money are worth spending.
How to name sources and campaigns
Stick to one spelling: “facebook”, not “Facebook” one day and “fb” the next - Analytics treats those as three sources. That's why the builder lowercases everything and uses hyphens by default. Use UTM links only from outside (posts, emails, flyers), never between pages of your own site.
Frequently asked questions
Which UTM parameters are required?
In practice three: utm_source (where from), utm_medium (which channel) and utm_campaign (which promotion). utm_term and utm_content are optional.
Where do I see the results in Google Analytics 4?
In Acquisition → Traffic acquisition: choose the “Session source/medium” or “Session campaign” dimension.
Do UTM parameters hurt SEO?
No, as long as you use them in links from outside. Your pages point Google to their canonical address anyway, so UTM links don't create duplicates.
